What is this "group transaction" update all about?
We are upgrading the way that complex DeFi transactions are imported into your account. This will result in more readable transaction rows, better categorization, less missing prices, and ultimately less manual cleanup after import. See below for an example of how a liquidity pool transaction will change under the new system.
Who is impacted by the update?
Any existing user who has previously imported a wallet on the ETH, BSC, MATIC, AVALANCHE, or FTM blockchains.
Will my old transactions be overwritten ?
No data will be changed in your account until you attempt to perform a re-sync on an ETH, BSC, MATIC, AVALANCHE, or FTM wallet. Any transactions that you've ignored or edited will be left unchanged. Any transactions that were previously unedited will be overwritten using the new group structure. As a result, you should expect to see lower numbers in the transaction counts displayed on the imported history page.
Will this cause any changes with previous tax results?
This depends on how you handled group transactions in previous years. If they were left blank or didn't receive any edits, then ZenLedger will have new data to work with and will likely calculate your taxes differently. If you categorized all of them manually and ZenLedger doesn't bring in anything new, your tax number should be the same.
