Connecting any cryptocurrency wallets that you own is necessary for tracking your transaction history and calculating capital gains/losses in ZenLedger. We only request you to provide us with your public wallet address. No one can access or steal your digital assets if they just have access to your wallet's public address.
ZenLedger needs your wallet address to retrieve the cost basis at the transaction time and show your tax liabilities. Also, there may be non-taxable events such as Self-Transfers between your wallet and any exchange you interact with, and these transactions are necessary to import into ZenLedger. Please review our Wallet Import article for instructions on how to import your public wallet addresses!
