When it's time to begin a new tax year, the first step is to update Transaction Sources and pull in the latest transaction data.

ZenLedger does not automatically update your records, but the steps are simple.

Here's a video for a quick overview of how to refresh sources. For more specific examples, see the notes in the article below.

For API Connections:

  • Navigate to the Transaction Sources page
  • Find the Exchange in the Summary table at the top ("Transaction Based on Exchanges")
  • Using the Green Symbol to the far right, select Re-Sync API from the menu

Coinbase, Bittrex, and Binance:

Coinbase has two kinds of API connections. For the API connection that required an API key, follow the steps above. For the API that redirected you to log in on Coinbase, return to Import Transactions screen, select Coinbase as the Exchange, and log in to Coinbase again and grant access with API.

For Bittrex and Binance, import methods have changed quite a bit since last tax year.

Please delete any old Bittrex files and redo completely to prevent duplication.
Please delete any old Binance files and APIs and redo completely to prevent duplication.

For Wallet Addresses:

  • Navigate to the Transaction Sources page
  • Find the Exchange in the Detailed table at the bottom ("Transactions Based on Sources(API, CSV, Wallet and Manual Imports)")
  • Using the Green Symbol to the far right, select ReSync Address from the menu

For Ledger:

This year we are using Ledger Live Export. Please remove old wallet addresses for Ledger devices completely before importing Ledger Live CSV.

For CSVs:

Import a new, updated CSV to add new records. If any records are duplicated between the old CSV and the new one, the system will ignore the copies and import only the new information.

For New Exchanges and New Wallets:

Import as you would any other wallet or exchange.
